It has been quite a whirlwind of a week for me. There was the Food and Wine Festival on Saturday, Mickeys Not So Scary party on Sunday and my own personal weekend the past two days. On top of all of this Iowa is 7-0 for the first time since 1985 and have managed to make their way into the the top 10 for the first time since I can remember. Things are good in my life and I have no complaints. So I thought I would just recap my adventures that I have had as of late.
Every year Epcot has a Food and Wine Festival in the fall. Not only do many of the countries that are already in the World Showcase give samplings of dishes and drink from their borders but other countries are brought in as well: Spain, Brazil, and Ireland. It is an incredible atmosphere especially if you enjoy trying new varieties of taste which, since my Europe trip last year, I try to take advantage of whenever I can. Favorites of the this years festival included: Cheddar Cheese Soup and Spicy Sausage with Polenta from Montreal, Canada, Lobster and Scallop Fisherman's Pie from Cork Ireland, and Cabernet Braised Short Ribs with Mashed Potatoes from Paris France. This is not to mention all the fantastic beer I was able to try which is one of my favorite things to do (Abita Amber Ale from N.Orleans topped my list). Even with all the fantastic tastings the best part was to experience it all with friends. With my roommates and neighbors I dressed from head to toe as a brazillian tour group and enjoyed every minute of it. Even with a cold breeze that came in the memories will be enjoyed.

As fantastic as the festival was it was not the end of the weekend by far. Sunday night was Mickey's Not So Scary Party at the Magic Kingdom. This is a private party for those who wish to buy a separate ticket for an after hours event where there is trick or treating, special fireworks and an amazing parade. It was so much fun. Being able to be a kid again running around saying "trick or treat" and getting a bag full of candy. The parade was incredible with great music and performers including a basset hound, the headless horseman galloping on stead and graveyard dancers scraping the streets with sparks flying. Craziness.

And so another week approaches and more fun will hopefully ensue. Iowa plays Michigan St. on Saturday so root on the Hawkeyes for that next victory.
